Ronald McDonald House, Stankt Augustin
Due to the high demand, a fifth temporary home for families of severely ill children was opened in North Rhine-Westphalia in October 2014. This family-friendly haven is located directly on the grounds of the Asklepios Children’s Clinic in Sankt Augustin. Here families can take a break from the stressful everyday routine of the hospital and at the same time stay close to their children. It is used as a temporary home by 400 families every year. APPIA not only supports Ronald McDonald House Charities with its building services but also makes regular donations. Because health insurance schemes pay for only a fraction of the actual operating costs of the house and oasis, Ronald McDonald House Charities depends on the assistance of many people.
