The groundbreaking marks the start of the new hotel construction for the Waldvogel in Leipheim. As the general contractor, APPIA Contract GmbH is responsible for the planning and construction of the new hotel building. Appia is also responsible for the hotel architecture and interior design. The project is thus being implemented holistically using the design-build process.

The Waldvogel has been associated with Leipheim for nearly 100 years. Starting as a farm with a small roadside restaurant, the business has evolved step by step. To this day, its own organic farming remains an integral part of the concept. Fruit and vegetables grown on-site are prepared directly in the kitchen. Over the years, additions have included the existing hotel, a greenhouse, the “Stadl” venue for weddings and events accommodating up to 300 people, and a conference center with eleven meeting rooms.

42 new rooms for conference and event guests

The existing hotel has 33 rooms. The new hotel building will now provide additional lodging options, particularly for guests attending conferences, weddings, and events. The plan calls for 42 rooms spread across three floors, including three long-stay apartments with a small kitchen and dining area. A fitness room is also part of the new building. Architecturally, the building, with its facade and vertical wooden slats, blends harmoniously into the existing Waldvogel complex.

Hotel Architecture and Interior Design by Appia

For the interior design, Appia has opted for warm color tones, oak wood surfaces, and carefully selected materials. Terrazzo tiles are used in the bathrooms. A defining feature of the rooms is the open-concept wardrobe, which combines storage space with a design element.
