The Asklepios Clinic in Schaufling is located on an idyllic hillside in the Bavarian Forest and offers comprehensive support for patients with neurological, orthopaedic, cardiological complaints and accident injuries on their road to recovery. 
Appia was commissioned to redesign the clinic’s spacious reception area. The aim of this remodelling is to offer arriving patients a friendly and inviting reception that immediately conveys a warm feeling.

Harmony between functionality and design 

While the previous reception area was characterised by small rooms, Appia’s new interior design concept features a spacious layout. This change not only serves to open up the space, but also offers clear advantages in terms of the hygiene concept. Following the redesign by Appia, it is now possible to receive two patients at the same time without neglecting the necessary distance between them. The concept was developed with a particular focus on clinical requirements and uses only surfaces that are easy to disinfect.

The calming presence of the forest in the reception area 

The forest motif characterises the reception area in a variety of ways: A detailed forest wallpaper and a foiled glass wall to the back office pick up on the theme. The colour scheme of the room has also been cleverly adapted to the play of colours of the forest – shades of green in the upholstered furniture, an inviting brown couch and furniture, lights and wall decorations in natural nuances form a harmonious colour scheme. The use of oak wood rounds off the connection to nature and creates a calming ambience for patients.
