One of the few fairytale castles has been reopened after extensive renovation and extension work. It was built as early as 1450 as a hunting lodge and served as a summer residence for the archbishops of Salzburg. The hotel ensemble comprises a 550-year-old, listed castle tower, which is adjoined by the main building, the Waldhaus and the Jägerhaus. A perfect balance between tradition and modernity was found during the renovation. The interior has been tastefully designed with the aim of offering excellent hospitality. Antiques and stylish accessories were integrated with great attention to detail. The interior concept, which is primarily characterised by light and warm colours, underlines the elegant character of the historic walls. This choice of colours also runs through the seven exclusive suites, including the world-famous ‘Sissi Suite’, which has remained unchanged. Each of the tower suites also represents a specific historical era. Those who prefer rustic charm will find it in the more rustic rooms in the Jägerhaus. The luxurious lifestyle of times gone by can be enjoyed in the two-storey suites such as the Mozart Suite and the new Franz Josef Suite as well as in other classic suites and junior suites.
