The history of Lautrach Castle dates back to 1781. Originally built as a hunting lodge, it has been expanded over the centuries and used for a variety of purposes, including as an educational institution. As early as 1923, none other than Albert Einstein appreciated the idyllic location of the castle in the picturesque Allgäu for a time-out. Today, Schloss Lautrach is a stylish 4-star hotel that combines historical elegance with modern comfort in a unique way. With its 80 rooms, 14 conference rooms, a wellness and fitness area and an in-house castle restaurant, Schloss Lautrach is the ideal location for any type of event – whether wedding, family celebration, corporate event or conference.
To improve comfort for guests, the 17 hotel rooms on the top floor were redesigned and extensively renovated by Appia. The clients wanted to create a hotel architecture with the authentic character of a castle. The interior designers at Appia therefore opted for elegant details: royal blue armchairs and curtains, wall cassettes, golden accents on closets, lights and in the bathrooms. The elegant ambience is rounded off by a herringbone pattern floor and exposed roof beams that emphasize the historic charm. Another requirement for the Appia team was to adapt the rooms to the changing target group. Where possible, the rooms were designed flexibly so that they can be used as either double or twin-bed rooms. The extensive hotel renovation was successfully implemented while the hotel remained open.
