The family-run Landhotel Waldeck is situated right on the edge of the forest and in the heart of the Donau-Ries countryside. For the refurbishment of 15 ‘Landflair’ hotel rooms, Appia is developing the interior design and hotel furnishings to complement the property’s natural character.

A modern take on ‘Waldflair’

A strong connection to nature was at the heart of the design from the very beginning. Green, as the key colour, echoes the rural surroundings, whilst wallpaper featuring a harmonious colour gradient offers a modern take on the theme of nature. To achieve a contemporary look, a darker, greyish oak was chosen, combined with neutral greige and dark accents. This gives the ‘forest charm’ typical of the Landhotel a modern yet cosy feel.

Bespoke joinery by Appia

The headboard, TV unit, desk, coat rack and other built-in features were individually designed and tailored to the design concept. As part of the refurbishment, the bathroom was also given more space to offer guests additional comfort. Dark details create deliberate contrasts here and consistently extend the hotel room’s design theme. The bespoke joinery completes the new hotel furnishings and combines functionality with the natural character of the interior.
