The Mercure Parkhotel, a 4-star hotel in Mönchengladbach right next to the Bunte Garten, is a preferred address for business and city travellers. The hotel, built in 1959, is currently undergoing extensive renovation.
Appia was commissioned to oversee the remodelling of the hotel. The gross floor area of the Mercure Parkhotel is 15,403 square metres, which is well above the average hotel size in Germany. As the general contractor, Appia is supporting the project from the work and execution planning through to realisation. The focus is on the 163 hotel rooms as well as the public areas such as the lobby, restaurant and various conference and event rooms on different floors, which were planned by the architectural firm May.
In order to organise the work efficiently, the renovation was divided into three construction phases. Appia attaches great importance to ensuring that the construction phases dovetail smoothly in order to complete the project in a time-efficient manner. The in-house carpentry workshop, which provides significant support for the interior fit-out and thus the execution, also enables the necessary flexibility while maximising efficiency. We look forward to accompanying the Mercure Parkhotel from now until the turnkey handover.
